Time off
Greg and I have been having a really nice time just doing small things
close to home. The weather has been really nice, so we've taken the
scooter to local parks and lakes. A couple of days ago, went to the
Arboretum in Chaska, MN, about 40 miles from where we live. We got
there relatively late in the day, but we still had time to wander
around the grounds. We saw the Uffda Palace (which I mentioned in an
earlier post), a structure made of twigs and branches tightly twisted
and woven together. It looks pretty cool when you see a picture of it,
but it's really interesting on the inside. The webcam images of it
(see earlier post) don't do it justice. It's a fascinating little
piece of work. Other parts of the Arboretum were beautiful, too. One
area was devoted entirely to shade trees -- 20 different varieties of
them! We'll be leaving for Albuquerque in a couple of days to help
help Skylar transition from life in New Mexico to his new life in
California. More soon.
